Re: No heat?
Replaced the AC clutch coil today and we now have working AC! Watched this video but ended up just putting the car in service mode. After that I was able to reach just about everything from the passenger side fender well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1A41iHzBiE Bought the coil from these folks. ...

Honda work in Panama City?
Any one have a good recommendation for Honda work in Panama City? Daughters Fit needs brakes but if she has enough pad to last til mid December I can change them for her. Just need a good shop to look at them for her and give honest opinion how much longer they'll last. Pep Boys just tried to tell h...

Re: No heat?
Just got done w/ Koni FSD's on all 4 corners. Very nice change in the ride. Not rough, but little stiffer and very very smooth compared to old ones. New pads and rotors up front while I was there. Was going to do the rears too but even after 11yrs and 95K miles the rears are still almost like new? S...

Anyone remove their tie rod or link ends? Will a normal puller tool work or will I need the special tool?

Re: Brake rotor question.
Capt, Thank you. Think for the money I'll swap in some new rotors while I'm under there. I do know that couple shops have told me in the past that the Gen1 rotors didn't have enough material to turn them down. Right now just trying to prioritize my repairs and hoping to keep it running another 11 ye...

Re: No heat?
Well, I'm a dumb butt. Looks like the AC issues are because the compressor is not running. Not sure how I missed that. Still not sure about the heat, either a bad temp sensor or the heater core.
Might have to tough it out a bit longer, next scheduled work is struts, brakes, and tires.

Re: No heat?
So I've got no ac and no heat. Fan seems to work fine and you can still manually direct air to the dash, windshield, or footwell vents. I'm leaning towards the Temp Control module for the IHKA behind the glove box. Can the dealership or another shop plug in and verify this or is it a hunt/peck metho...

Brake rotor question.
Recently had my tires rotated. Garage suggested new brakes. Not because the pads are worn all that much but because the rotors are worn? It appears the rotors have worn down leaving a lip on the inside and outside of the rotor contact area. It looks about 1/16" high or so. Mentioned this to the...

Re: No heat?
Okay, so now I'm without AC. Fan working fine. Going to try and get under the dash this weekend. I've just been too lazy and it's been too hot to mess with it since I'm only 3miles from work. Will see what I can come up with.

New Struts?
Going on 11years old and almost 95K miles on my baby. Looking to replace the struts soon. Thinking about the Koni FRS system. Not looking to lower it or track it. Just want to tighten it up some. Thoughts / suggestions? Anything I should be looking at while I'm under there besides some strut defende...

Re: Home Portable Lift
this guys own a MINI and where at the last Dragon as vendors. OPEN LIFT They did mention they also sell the units outright. We had a shop like that open up in Jacksonville a few years ago. I got pretty excited, miss the similarly equipped MWR shops from my Navy days, but they didn't last long. Clos...

So I've been looking at getting the EZ-Lift but today while surfing I come across the BendPak QuickJack BL-3500. The EZ has higher weight rating but the BendPak looks like it would be quite a bit easier to use and store. EZ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCWGxpmPYug http://www.ezcarlift.com/ BendPa...

Re: Shop Equipment in Jax?
Thanks T, Was going to check them and Northern Tool out this weekend maybe. Just looking to do some small odds and ends around the house. Wife and I like the contemporary style but it's hard to find in Jax and expensive everywhere else so thinking about making some stuff on my own. We'll see how it ...

Anyone know of a community shop setup or someplace similar besides the base hobby shops where I could get my hands on some metal working tools like a brake, drill press, bandsaw, etc?

Re: 15" Rotator Spoke wheels only
Well i'm not sure they'd fit over your brakes, and it'd be a bit of a downgrade honestly.(these are 15s) But if you do want them i wont deny ya the sale! Just some input. I had put some 15" Holies on my '03 S for about a year. They replaced my 17" S-Lites. I picked them up really cheap w/...

Mine smells musty sometimes but nothing under there is wet or even damp. I just have to keep hunting around I guess or get a better jacket. Thank you.

Re: Heat Not Working? Before replacing heater core try this.
I need to go check this out. My '03 has stopped blowing heat and it has sucked the last few days.
If not this, anyone w/ experience testing and replacing the various temp sensors with out having the dealership diagnose it?
