Saturday July 19th, "The Loop" & a car show...

Let's all meet up for lunch & drive around The Ormond Loop, then we'll head over to the monthly (FREE) car show at Destination Daytona. Per Hans will be there with his SXE-TUB rather than his SXE-MINI... but we'll let him hang out with us anyway!

We will probably be meeting sometime around noon, and depending on where we want to eat, the location will be posted soon. From our most recent experience at the car show, I think we need to be there at/before 4pm (but I've seen times range from 2pm all the way to 6pm... good ol' interwebz information super-hiway )... I'll try to get to the bottom of the mystery, so stay tuned for more details!

I talked to people at Destination Daytona, show cars start arriving around 3PM.... so should we!

I think we should meet in Ormond at noon, probably somewhere near Rte. 40 & Nova Road so any out-of-towners can find us easily. That way we can go up The Loop from the south and see the best parts, then head to Snack Jack's for lunch on the beach. We can head back down through the best part of The Loop going the opposite way to get to Destination Daytona around 3pm.

I have to work that morning, but I'd like to meet up with everyone after lunch and drive to the show together but it depends on how early we gotta be there for the show. I can do 4:00, but 2:00 is too early for me.
Maybe I can catch you at the restaurant before the loop run?

Hey Tiff! Do you still work at Snack Jacks? If so, we might be going here for the meet... it's the only suggestion so far, so it's likely to be where we end up. I don't like the valet parking, but if we gotta, we gotta.

I updated the first post with meeting details, I'm leaning towards a 12 o'clock meeting at the corner of Rte. 40 & Nova Rd. near the McDonald's on the South West corner. That should be a good place to get started.

Hey Tom I really enjoyed looking at your great "Loop" photos I like your suggestion for the start of the run, but would suggest moving it a half mile north to the Trails Shoping Center which has a great parking lot with lots of room and also has a Panera so early arrivals can get a cup of coffee and sit out on their patio until everyone arrives. I think that this would be better than hangin' at McDonalds. I would be glad to arrive early (11am) to offer short rides in 1SXE-TUB for anyone interested.



Another option for lunch might be Hijackers at the Flagler Airport (just a thought ) and hope we have good weather and a great turnout

No, I don't work there anymore. Just a one job girl now!
I know that many people are uncomfortable with valet parking, but the valets at Snacks are really good at what they do. I promise they won't hurt anybody's baby! Plus they can line up all our cars in a nice neat little bunch, so as to make for nice photos.

Also, If any of you haven't been to Snack Jack's before, I gotta let you know it's still a Cash Only establishment. They don't take credit cards. There's an on-site "atm machine" but it might be easier to just bring some greenbacks with ya just to avoid any hassle.
