I plan on making this one. Last year I had to prep the cruise ship for dry dock and there was absolutely no getting out of it. Disney is not sending either ship this year or next year to dry dock so I will definitely plan on getting there this year. :D

Brain, any news on this yet? I am torn between going to the car show in Jacksonville vs an All British Car Show. OK, I am leaning towards the all British show. The one in Jacksonville is really nice, great location and great cars but it is like the one at Patrick Air Force Base with a mix of cars from all makes.

Franz (& everyone else who is interested):

The Fox Lake Show is a very similar format to the Winter Park All British Car and Cycle Show that we were at / in last March.

Probably a $25 entry fee / T shirt & modest goodie bag / door prizes / entrants are the judges :) .

Fox Lake Park is just off of I95 near Titusville / at the KSC exit. A very nice Park with lots of open area ~ a great place to have a picnic with your Mini, friends, & family 8) . http://www.brevardparks.com/parks/prkna2.php#Fox

The sponsoring club has not set up a specific page for this year's show yet.

This is their web site: http://www.mgcarclubflorida.org - it has pictures of previous year's shows (there are some on our site and http://motoringfun.com/ as well).

Last year, I think we had 5 new MINIs and about a dozen classic Minis entered - plus a bunch of MINI folks showed up just to check out the show and enjoy the day.

I hope we can get a great turnout - I'll let you all know when the club has puts an entry form on their page.

stay tuned

UPDATE!

I just received the registration form for this September's show ~ but I am not sure how to add the PDF file to this forum.

Can someone please help me with this? Though I'm sure it will be on their website soon too (see above).
I also Emailed the file to Robert ~ those Moderators can do anything.

Looks like the details are as I mentioned earlier (also see above).
- $25 entry fee (includes a T-shirt if you register early - by 9/15) - also $25 day of show (but no shirt).
- 9 AM to 4 PM ~ show cars must be there by 11:00.
Make a day of it - lots of room, shade trees, picnic areas and amenities. The weather has been very good the last few years that I have been there.

Note that the $25 fee is to enter your car in the show - there is no admission fee for folks that just want to go to the park, check out the cars, and enjoy the day. Although I do encourage all fellow MINI/Mini owners to enter the show ~ there will be plenty of space for all us Mini types to congregate comfortably.

Again, it is a casual, low key event ~ all about getting together with our cars and having a nice time in the park.

Answer to the first question, park in the parking lot. Come into the show and find MINI/Minis. Normally no charge for that.
Second mulitple question: Lots of cars to look at, we often huddle together and get to know one and another. Look at the other models such as MG's, Triumph's etc. shop at the vendor booths and as far as cooking, we either bring our own meals in a cooler or they usually have vendors that sell food besides all of the other British crap I buy, uh, I mean that we all can buy. :sun:

piratesgold44 and everyone else who is interested:

I've been in this show the last few years - recommend that you do not go to a parking lot ~ but instead motor around till you see the herd of MINIs/Minis and park near by - you should be able to get real close. It is a big park. We MINIs entered in the show have been generally situated where there is a lot of open area around us on a side or two. Suggest you bring some chairs and plan on setting up a base camp with us.
I expect that there will be 80 - 100 fine British cars entered for folks to check out ~ plus some visitors like yourself.

There are pictures of the last few year's shows on this website and sponsoring club's website: http://www.mgcarclubflorida.org.

There is definitely no charge for you to check out the show and gather with us.

There should be at least one food & drink vendor there. I intend to start up a grill sometime during the day. A good idea to bring some drinks, snacks, and such.
Last year, after the show, a bunch of us Mini types motored down a little ways to the Irish Pub in Titusville (just a few minutes away) ~ good food and a decent selection of brews on tap. ...

Piratesgold44, listen to Brian, he knows this show. I have not been to this show yet but generally speaking about shows, the information I gave is the norm.

I also bring a shade to pop up for everyone to gather in so we all keep from sunburning. Everyone is invited to come into the tent. You will know it is mine with the MINI flag and now that we have moved in to our house and I found it, I will have my British flag out too.

I'm looking forward to the start of show season once more. This is one of my favorite things to do. Meet people and meet my OCmD needs.

Thanks Brian for the specific information for this show. Would you like me to bring anything for the BBQ? Oh crap #-o , Piratesgold44 don't listen to this part, you are supposed to believe we are not friendly. 8)

we'll set up a cabana for shade too ~ although there is a lot of tree shade to be had.

as for the grill: - last year the wife marinated some boneless chicken breasts, I grilled them up and we made sandwiches. We'll do that again.
Frans (and others): Bring whatever you like for the grill.
I'll probably pick up a little portable / disposable grill to work from ~ there are built in grills located around the park, but I'd like to be a little bit closer to our cars.

Note that they would like to have show car entrants in place by no later than 11:00.

And don't forget to consider heading on down to the Irish Pub after the show.

You can probably tell that I am looking forward to this show too! :)

Hey Brian, what time do you plan on getting there? I'm still hoping you can drive my classic for me. I'm just trying to plan that day and what time I should get going in the morning.
