Good place to go when you have a Mini related issue...Chase, and the guys out back seem to always work that little miracle. I give them a 5-Star rating...whoohoo!

I've noticed a LOT of posts in the local forums that really belong in the general MINI forums. I used to mention it to the posters and/or move them, but then people would get confused and re-post in the local forums again. My efforts felt rather Sysiphean, so I stopped pushing the dagblamed rock.

Chris, would you care to relate what inspired you to make this post? Surely you didn't just decide to plug MINI of Pensacola randomly before you went to bed. You must have paid them a visit, right? Do tell. Inquiring minds want to know.

I had some left-over issues with a replaced window motor unit in that there was a slight misfit in the reassembly which caused the door to howl like a banshee when I reached a speed of 93 mph. It was really annoying and they made good on their repair as well as addressing some performance issues (mileage loss) which turned out to be a defective set of plug wires which were only outputting about 80-85% of the coil output to the plugs. Given I had very good compression given 100K miles, new plugs, a new coil and new wires (and a new crank pully) it reasoned my mileage would go up, and yet it went down. It was a nice job of deducing a problem and providing a good fix. New wiper arms/blades and a super cleanup made my visit what a visit should be to a Mini Dealer...efficient, reasonable cost and great care while you hang about waiting for your car to be ready. Kudoos to Mini of Pensacola.

I looked for the Mini and MINI Service thread but somehow overlooked it...hence posting it in the wrong place - but did move it pronto and modified the original message to atone for my misthreading sin.

Only a stickler librarian would call that a "sin". :)

And only Bill would allude to Sysiphus yet also use "dagblamed" in the same post.

MINI of Pensacola being very new has the opportunity of establishing a great service record. Glad to see they're off to a good start.

Bill might try allowing the rock to careen to the bottom of the hill all by its lonesome with the possibility it might at least roll over the toe of the offending pushee.

Sounds like MoP has at least one tech who's on the ball. I seriously doubt their OBDII scanner told them the plug wire resistance was too high. That likely took some old fashioned deductive reasoning, a hunch, and some simple voltmeter testing. In this day & age of car repair, actual logical deduction is a unique skill. Kudos to MoP!

James, I like to give you something to  (or :cringe: ) over every once in a while, dagblammit.

And Chris, I long ago stood back atop the hill and watched that rock go rolling off into the sunset all by its lonesome.

I don't know if my rock rolled off into the sunset, but I learned long ago not to be behind it when it began to roll.
