There are a lot of high HP cars running a stock coil, so that should tell you something. I have Magnacore wires on my car, and while they look cool, I didn't notice any gains. What other mods do you have?

Just have the JCW pkg. and a CAI recently installed, getting rdy for a 15% pulley and JCW NGK plugs, figured i would just change the coil and wires at that time and was looking for opinions on the MSD setup.

I'll make you a good deal on a new 17% pulley if you haven't bought one already. There's no harm in going with the MSD stuff, just don't expect much of a gain for the money spent. I would go with a step colder range plugs when you add a pulley. I really like my Brisk plugs.

Honestly you won't gain any power with the coil or wires, but if you have corosion on the coil terminals it's not a bad idea to replace it. Also we use the screamin demon coils, they put out a little more juice than the msd coil.

Stock coil and wires on our car, works fine. Just replaced the coil with 100k on it though.

One of our techs told me that some of the after market coils are frying the computer. B-Careful!

It would help but you don't have to put them on.

I have Kinsborne Wires, Beru plugs 1 step cooler and Screamin demon coil. You will not get any hp gains, you may feel the idle smooth out but thats about it. The cooler plug helps with running a pulley.

As far as Megnecore wires, I ran them on my 99 GS-T until they just starting failing with in 8k miles. Second set did the same thing, there are blogs etc about Magnecore wires and problems....but there are blogs about any product out there.

Msd coil pack is good ! Factory one is good too ! I recommend that upgrade when boosting up big due to the temperature that the combustion chamber need to reach to make a good detonation . You wont notice gain in hp (like other people said) but when upgrading fuel systems , cai and boosting you will see the difference only on one gauge ..... Your air/fuel ratio and fuel . What im trying to say that due to the extra spark you will have less unburn fuel in the chamber making that power after all the combination . I will stick to the oem until the upgrade is really needed ! Good luck !
