Odd AC problem

Postby Jims5543 » Tue May 16, 2017 12:54 pm

Every once in a blue moon, as in 2x now in the last year of ownership our R53 will blow hot air from the center vents and cold air from the sides.

Anyone else have this happen?

It happened Friday afternoon, Sunday we drove it again and it never did it, today no problem.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!- Hunter S. Thompson

that is odd, I have never heard of that one happening before... My only idea is that there are flaps in the AC system that open and close based on recirculating air n stuff, and one of em must get stuck open to the heater core? but, idk why the difference between sides and center, I would think it would be feet and dash air difference if that was the case? I can't say for certain, as I have never had the dash out on my MINI yet, thank god, knocks on wood.
