Right now I'll be back in April. I've just been asked if I'll stay an extra year, so it looks like I'll be cruising the Autobahn in the Clubman for nearly 18 months! PIcs will be taken of course! I've already got my shirt picked out for the pickup!

Boy, what a bonehead I am! I totally forgot that I got TWO SSM shirts! I got a black polo...which I think will go much better with a Midnight Black Clubman! The blue shirt goes well with my Classic Mini. :-D

Christmas is coming early! I got TWO surprises today!

Our first snow of the season in Stuttgart!

Cool Wheels. Are you going to put them on the Clubby? If so you may have TPM issues. I'll have to check with the Service Advisor. I know the new wheels work on the 1st gen MINI, I remember hearing something about 1st gen not working on the 2nd gen.

That ought to be a simple matter of swapping in the TPMS sensors. You know, unless BMW/MINI decided to weld the sensors inside the wheels or something insane like that.

And yeah, sweet lookin' wheels. Those are some of the nicer OEM wheels MINI has offered. ;)b ;)b

Aren't the R105's considered 2nd gen? They're still offered on the website with new builds. I looked them up on the http://libraryofmotoring.info/facts/wheels/ wheel guide and it says they're 2006-2009 wheels (probably not updated to show 2010).

Another problem with 1st gen wheels on the new models is the balancing weights get in the way of the sensors...its real hard to set the weights without having to go outside and that looks right dorky. You can buy an alternative setup, but be prepared for about 160 clams. I finally decided to save my pennies for some made for the Clubman.

If these wheels were a factory option on my 2010 Cooper S Clubman, they should fit. I highly doubt that MINI redesigned them just for the Clubman. Anyone know otherwise?

It's a R53 issue to the R56 issue, not just to the Clubman..was only referring to my dilemma in trying to get wheels from an 06 S to fit my 09 Clubman S. Sorry for the confusion.

Damn spot...quote Justin Octavi, Mini of Pensacola "Justin said that the tire pressure monitors are different. So 1st gen won’t work on 2nd gen." I could do it but would have to buy a whole set of sensors and they cost about 180 so I am going to have to pass on this..hell of a deal and I am sure someone will jump on it quickly.

3 weeks to the day and with only 4 miles on it! Woohoo! Just got back from my first grocery run, mail run and gas fill up, all on the way back from the dealer. :-D Pics later tonite...when I get off of work!

It got into the dealer on Thursday of last week but the bill of sale wasn't processed yet. I'm glad too because I would have picked it up on Friday in the rain...but now I got to pick it up today in the snow!

I've got a question on the break-in, what's the MINI suggestion for doing so? Has anyone here ever heard of a "hard" break in, and has anyone done it? I've read about it...but it was in the V8 area, and not sure if it applies to 4cyl motors.

I was told to keep it under 100 for the first 1000 miles on my 09 Clubman S...It was hard, but I did it.

I don't know 100%, but I think it's to keep the RPMs below 4 or 5000, and vary the engine speeds. Don't ride at constant velocity for too long for the 1st 500 miles or so.

And I was drinking quite a bit that night, seewhy, I don't remember the exact story I told, but I must have been "on" When I bought my car, it was delivered in late June. I was going on a road trip for July 4th w/e. I read you weren't supposed to drive at constant velocity for 500 miles or so, so I knew I needed to break her in quick! So I drove all over town after work trying to put on the 1st 500 miles. I think I drove 500 miles in a week. And while driving, of course I'm shifting all the time cause I don't want to keep the motor at one speed. I shifted before 4000 each time (I think I did hit 6000 once and 5000 or 5500 once). I was a driving, shifting machine! :motoring: Of course, it was torture to sit in my new MINI driving every night

Good luck!

I live in the city so the constant shifting isn't an issue for me at all, and I like to use ALL my gears, so I haven't hit 4k yet. My favorite thing about my wife's R53 was that I could toodle around town in 6th...and I just tried it again tonite on the way home. Wish I had the on board computer like on the R53 (with nav) that would tell me instantaneous mileage.
