Dilipgupta spam?

Postby JBKone » Thu Jun 16, 2011 7:33 am

This thread smells like spam: http://www.sunshineminis.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=24431

while this may be a legitimate business, signing up to post an ad smells like spam. Do they own a MINI? Does anyone know these people/person?

I was posting this in the Moderators section, but thought there might be a member who could shed some light on this so wanted to post it for all to see. Anyone have any info?

I questioned that myself. I moved it to the "Sunshine Yellow Pages" this morning but forgot to delete the original post. Since it's not a multiple post, like the past spammers were, I'm inclined to let it ride till we see any more questionable post from that user name.

Since this person isn't a "vendor" I don't think it should be in the "Sunshine MINIs Vendor area". Do we even still have site vendors? If not, this is probably fine.

We no longer have any paid supporters, so that section if for any member that has a service to offer to community.

should we archive that section and just go with the "Sunhine MINIs Yellow Pages"? (or vice versa)

(I'm not trying to be a pain - please don't take this as complaining - I'm just trying to make SSM a better place by abolishing and stamping out redundancy)

I believe I moved it to the yellow pages and deleted the original thread

If the original post/thread was not in an advertising section of the forum, I would likely choose to delete their account entirely, as that's what happens when spambots start posting ads on forums.
