Where do I find a place to......

Postby speedy1 » Sun Sep 18, 2011 4:25 pm

I am starting this thread for people that are loooking for MINI mechanics/tint/etc. I will keep this top post updated with the businesses that receive mostly positive reviews. Please be considerate when discussing negative issues about any businesses on this thread....we do not want this to become a "bash-fest". A simple short explaination why/why you don't approve will be sufficient. Thanks ahead of time for keeping this forum classy.

Todd and I have been bringing out cars to Tint Specialist..for I dont remember how long. They have always been reasonable and honest! We have never had any negative issues with our tint on any of our cars there. I give them a "10" !!

I have 3 places I would like to recommend:

Mechanics
Jose Palacios @ Automotive Industries, LLC, 10875 Old Dixie Highway | Unit 3, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081 - 904-808-7049 http://www.dhsai.com - Website is under construction, but there are testimonials on there.

He did a full service and other things to my dad's MINI. My dad doesn't have the warranty anymore and he needed his car serviced and brakes done. He also fixed my mom's non-MINI. His specialty is European cars... So he knows his stuff. He used to work for Tom Bush and Brumos...

Tint
Devin @ Devin's Window Tinting LLC - He is a mobile service. He located in the Mandarin area. 904-755-6173
http://www.devinswindowtinting.com Facebook: Devin's Window Tinting, LLC - pictures of the projects he has done

He tinted my MINI and as well as a couple of other friends that are non-MINI... I like his work and he does a great job.

Austin @ Identity Design - 4533 Sunbeam Road, Suite 803, Jacksonville, FL 32257 - 904-201-9727

I've known Austin for more than 5 years, he has been in the industry for quite sometime now. If you need parts of your MINI wrapped or need stickers, he can do it. He also does signs and business cards.

I was pleased with Rollin' Sound off Philips. They did my tint on my Boss and I couldn't be happier.

Also, any of these places that do the tint possibly do the 3M clear bra? Rollin' Sound does but it was a bit pricier than I've read other places do it elsewhere in the country.

Tint: Tint World down the street from Tom Bush. Almost all of his work comes with a life time warranty that is transferable.

Mechanic: Not any one I would trust in Jax on then the stealership. As for an alignment I take my MINI to Eurosport off of Phillips and Sunbeam.

Steve Wheeler Automotive in Lake City is the mechanic other mechanics call if they have a problem. He is a "Master Automobile Technician" and a member of the International Society of Automotive Engineers. He is a man you can trust 100%. He is not cheap, but, you get what you pay for. Two year warranty, unlimited miles. His number is 386-752-0700, or, toll free 888-239-1608.

Depending on what side of town you are or if a drive doesn’t bother you: Maxi Muffler on San Jose Blvd.
Ask that Melvin do the work.

As usual, y'all are a Godsend!! I just had my first "experience" with TBM "service?" Princess Di is 4 months and 3 days out of warranty and they wanted almost $200 to do an oil change and diagnose why my AC isn't as cool anymore!!! I immediately came to my "people"! Thanks again for all the great recommendations on mechanics and trim!

Sam's Automotive on Parental Home Road is a reliable repair shop. They have saved me from TBM repair sticker shock on more than one occasion.

Can't find a Eurosprt but I found Eurospec near Phillips and Sunbeam.

Is that the same place?

How are their prices?

Clear bra: Cool conceptz http://clearbraofjax.com

They did a first class job, much better than the two other places we've used in the past. More reasonably priced too.
